BoothLevel measures sound on your device. It doesn’t record audio, doesn’t need an account, and never asks to track you. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
Who We Are
BoothLevel and this website are made by Bitwise Forge LLC (“we”), in Georgia, United States. Questions about this policy go to contact@bitwiseforge.com.
The Microphone
The app uses the microphone to measure sound level. It turns what it hears into level readings on your device, as it listens. Audio is never saved, and never leaves your device. The readings on screen, including the graph of the last few minutes, are kept in memory only while the app is open.
What Stays on Your Device
Your settings, your target range, and any calibration you make are stored on your device. We can’t see them. Deleting the app deletes them.
Calibrations You Share
After calibrating, you can choose Share Calibration and send it to us with an email app. The app first shows everything the files contain, and nothing is sent unless you send it. A shared calibration contains:
- Your device model, iOS version, and app version
- The levels measured, the readings from your meter, and the correction the app worked out
- The make and model of your meter, if you entered them, and its class, if you chose one
- Which test noise you played, if you said
It contains no audio and no location. We use calibrations to build device profiles, which we may include in future versions of the app for everyone with the same device model. We keep the email you send so we can reply, and we use your email address only for that.
Purchases
Pro is sold through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles payment, and we never see your payment details or your Apple Account. Apple tells the app which purchases you own so it can turn on Pro features.
Ads
The free version shows banner ads from Google AdMob. The app never asks permission to track you, so AdMob can’t use your device’s advertising identifier, and ads aren’t personalized based on your activity in other companies’ apps and websites.
To show an ad, AdMob receives information such as your IP address, device type, and how you interact with the ad, which Google uses to deliver ads, limit how often you see the same one, and prevent fraud. See how Google uses information in ads. Pro has no ads.
Crash Reports
If you’ve turned on Share With App Developers in your device’s privacy settings, Apple sends us crash reports and usage statistics that don’t identify you. You can turn this off in Settings, Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements.
This Website
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising. Like any website, our hosting provider receives your IP address and browser details when you visit, and keeps them for a limited time in server logs for security and reliability. If you email us, we keep your message so we can reply.
Sharing and Selling
We don’t sell your information or share it for advertising. We share information only with the services described above, or when the law requires it.
Children
BoothLevel isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email contact@bitwiseforge.com and we’ll delete it.
Your Choices
- You can turn off microphone access for the app in Settings. The meter needs it to work.
- You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, at contact@bitwiseforge.com.
- Buying Pro removes ads.
Changes to This Policy
When the app starts collecting something new, we’ll update this page and the date at the top before that version is released.
