A Sound Level Meter for Choirs

See how loud rehearsals and concerts really get, from the podium or any seat in the room.

Coming Soon to the App Store

  • Hear the Room From the Seats

Walk the room during a run-through, or hand the device to someone in the back row, and compare what each spot reads.

  • See the Shape of a Piece

The 30-minute graph shows a rehearsal’s softest and loudest passages side by side. Drag across it to read any moment.

  • Readings You Can Compare

Fast and Slow follow IEC 61672-1, so a reading lines up with a real sound level meter set the same way.

  • Silent During a Concert

Target Range alerts are a border color only, with nothing audible, so the meter can run through a performance.

Settings to Start With

A starting point. Adjust from there for your room.

  • ResponseSlow

    Steadier through sustained singing.

  • Graph30 min

Long enough to see a whole rehearsal block.

  • Target RangeOff at first

Watch where your rehearsals land before you pick limits.

How Loud Is Too Loud

NIOSH recommends keeping noise exposure at or below 85 dBA averaged over 8 hours, and every 3 dB louder halves the recommended time: 88 dBA for 4 hours, 91 dBA for 2. It’s a recommendation, not a law.

The app shows the level in the room right now. It doesn’t track anyone’s exposure over a day.
