How Loud Is Too Loud

NIOSH recommends keeping noise exposure at or below 85 dBA averaged over 8 hours, with every 3 dB louder halving the recommended time. OSHA’s enforceable workplace limit is 90 dBA over 8 hours, and it requires a hearing conservation program from 85 dBA.

The app shows the level in the room right now. It isn’t a noise dosimeter and doesn’t track anyone’s exposure over a day.
